The British Love to Queue

28 Sep

Hey everyone, so I kept my word, here is my first installment for my diary, just got to try and keep it up for another 364 days!

Spent my first day at Reading Uni today and mainly with five others from my hall, it’s amazing how having a drink and just chatting with people you’ve never met before brings you together I feel I’ve known them for a lot longer than the 24 or so hours we’ve actually spent together. Thats something to remember!

Today was all about queuing, it would never happen in any other country but the british love to queue. I queued for two hours to get my uni card, then another 30 mins for another card and then a bit more for my academic welcome. So really all I’ve done today is fill my wallet with some more plastic which doesn’t work in cash machines (although I haven’t tried yet) and said a very distant hello to someone important at university, so important in fact I can’t remember what it is they do. But hey since when was productivity the point of university.

As I write this I’m sitting in the small box I’m now calling home so I thought I’d take a little pic and show you all what I’ve done with the decoration, now I know it’s not going to win any awards and I doubt it’ll feature on Grand Designs but it’s starting to feel like home.

Now I have to dash and try find something to cook tonight before the second night out in a row (white t-shirt night down the SU tonight) which is probably a first for me!

Ciao for now
