As a person who wants to use the services to have things that i have bought collected and delivered' I have found a clear differeence between uship and shiply.

Shiply charge £2.99 even though it states on their website:

"Shiply is entirely free to all users, we charge nothing to people wanting to move goods."

In Shiply's definition "User" means a Member who has posted a Job on the Site.

I actually only just saw the above information on their website which is unfortunate for me as I have now twice paid their £2.99 charge, though I know how reluctant I was to. Yes I know that I am guilty of not checking their website thoroughly enough for information on charges :(

Uship on the other hand definitely does not charge users as I have used their service as well.

I will be sticking with uship uk in the future now I know that Shiply is making me pay for the privelege of using their site.

It doesn't matter which site one uses, UShip or UShiply. The links below pertain primarily (possibly exclusively) to the U.S. Even still, I'm sure the same principles apply worldwide. Be sure to read the "comments" left for each article.

Look at what the state of California has to say about UShip and the cautions that need to be exercised.

To get just a "sampling" as to just how deceptive these types of websites can be when seeking a carrier for your transportation neeeds, visit the forum at:
http://www.stopillegaltrucking.com/forum/index.php

Take a look at the Carrier credential verification results for Uship's 2008 Top 100 transporters.

Want to see what information UShip hides from the unsuspecting customer (Shipper)? Then Google:

UShip negative feedback rating

After initial results appear, scroll down to where is says:

Show more results from www.UShip.Com and click on that.

Then scroll down to where it says:

Show all results from www.UShip.Com and click on that.

STILL WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE PERSON OR BUSINESS THAT YOU ARE THINKING OF HIRING? THEN “GOOGLE” THE BUSINESS NAME and PERSON‘S LEGAL NAME!

You might be surprised as to what’s lurking out there on the net, no matter where in the world they are located!

I bet that these 2 people (1 from Australia & the other from Alexandria EGYPT) wish they had done their homework. Just these 2 alone, got taken for in excess of $80,000 from someone in the U.S.!

I apologies Fred, when you posted you put your email address as a uship email address. I'm not quite sure why you would have done that but if your not a Uship employee my bad.

I am glad someone addressed the "illegal carrier" issue on uship. This has been ongoing that without having a legal carrier handling your moves, you could have a potential serial killer, pedophile or rapist having full access to you, your family and your home.

No thanks, you need to steer clear of uship until they remove illegals, stop the large amount of theft and honor illegal activity. It is not a neutral venue by any stretch of the imagination and once they either take the lead or get shut down for DOT or tax violations, this industry will be a safer place to ship!

Uship employee? I am a DEFRA and UK State Veterinary Service Type 2 authorised pet transporter servicing the UK, mainland Europe and Overseas. I joined Uship 3 years ago and Shiply last year soon after they launched. I have watched first-hand how Shiply has copied one feature after another, and I developed our company website myself so I know a thing or two about websites. I do like the competition and hope it makes them both lower their ridiculous fees. Neither site verifies proper authorisation for live animal transport and there are many uncertified transporters.

Can't say thats a wonderful argument Tim, since they are doing the same thing.

Maybe now the number of Shippers from locations outside of the U.S. won't be ripped off for thousands of dollars by those registerd as Carriers on UShip and who pretend to have the legal authority to ship from the U.S. to overseas locations!

Hats off to Shiply!
