Lazy Days and Lack of Sleep

Had a long night out in Reading last night which really killed of the day today, didn’t surface until almost lunch time and not much was achieved, ah well a good night was had last night!

Spent the evening in tonight going to try and catch up on lack of sleep and recover for the rest of freshers week. Hopefully have a bit more to write tomorrow, today was a bit of a waste.

Ciao for now.

Degree’s are Complicated

Day 2: Had a great night last night and met lots of people who are living near me, unfortunatly even if they did sign my shirt a number of times, I’m going to struggle to remember the crazy amount of names that were thrown in my direction, apologies in advance! I should explain that last night was white t-shirt night in the union and involved scrawling names, numbers and anything else that seemed appropriate (or not) on the shirts of strangers, and a good laugh was had by all.

Today was a bit different with my enrollment onto my Geography and Economics course, clearly a degree is needed to understand degree enrollment and even the signing onto university computers, but task was completed with a small helping of stress to keep things interesting.

In other news I’m now a gym member (time to start that winter training) and I spent a large amount of time in HSBC trying to help the representative helping me help themselves, don’t you just love banks, they need fighting all the way!

Anyway time for me to get ready for night out in Reading, see what this towns got to offer the inexperienced student!

The British Love to Queue

Hey everyone, so I kept my word, here is my first installment for my diary, just got to try and keep it up for another 364 days!

Spent my first day at Reading Uni today and mainly with five others from my hall, it’s amazing how having a drink and just chatting with people you’ve never met before brings you together I feel I’ve known them for a lot longer than the 24 or so hours we’ve actually spent together. Thats something to remember!

Today was all about queuing, it would never happen in any other country but the british love to queue. I queued for two hours to get my uni card, then another 30 mins for another card and then a bit more for my academic welcome. So really all I’ve done today is fill my wallet with some more plastic which doesn’t work in cash machines (although I haven’t tried yet) and said a very distant hello to someone important at university, so important in fact I can’t remember what it is they do. But hey since when was productivity the point of university.

As I write this I’m sitting in the small box I’m now calling home so I thought I’d take a little pic and show you all what I’ve done with the decoration, now I know it’s not going to win any awards and I doubt it’ll feature on Grand Designs but it’s starting to feel like home.

Now I have to dash and try find something to cook tonight before the second night out in a row (white t-shirt night down the SU tonight) which is probably a first for me!

Ciao for now

The Next Step

Ps. Clearly from this video I don’t know my left from my right!

It’s Been A While

Sitting on a train on the way to Brighton for a few days break is the first time I’ve had time to write a blog post for a long time, rest assured I haven’t abandoned the site and have much planned for the next few months.

The obvious change to the site is the brand new design, I’m in the process of further improving this but let me know what you all think of the design and I’ll be rolling out more in the next few months.

So what’s my excuse for not posting for so long? Well I’ve been busy working on an ecommerce web project with R16 Media that’s eating up all my spare time at the moment but is coming close to completion. Also during the month of August I spent two weeks traveling through Italy by train from Venice to Rome stopping in Bloggna, Pisa, Florence and Siena in between, it was an amazing trip and one I would highly reccommend to anyone, I will definitely do something similar in the future.

My last big bit of news is I gained a place at Reading University to study Geography with Economics, organising all this is taking so much time and I still have another 2 weeks before I go!

This was just a quick post to update everyone and stop anyone worrying about me (like anyone was!) The best way to keep up with me is to follow me on Twitter, I’m @oligibson there. Rest assured there is alot more to come on oligibson.com

Anyway ciao for now guys.
