What’s on your iPhone
I’m excited today, the doctor tells me I’m much better, I haven’t got anything serious and I don’t feel like death warmed up anymore! I also managed to get the road bike fixed today and even went out round the block, man I miss riding, need to work on getting my bike up to join me in Reading before the winter closes in.
I downloaded Tweetie 2 for my iPhone last night and it made it to the front page and this got me thinking, what apps do you have on your iPhone’s. I have a bit of an app addiction so I thought I’d go through some of the apps I use more than everyday and hopefully get some suggestions on some I should have from someone out there too.
So along the top I have my messages, my ical, photo’s and camera. All the standard apps but all useful especially ical, I use that so many times a day.
Following that I have Google Maps which is amazing for searching the area for shops, banks, restaurants of almost anything else. The GPS has saved me a few times and with the 3gs knowing what way I’m facing getting lost is almost impossible. I then have my clock for alarms, settings and then Google search which I use for the voice searching when on the go.
After this is WordPress, I use this to update my blog on the go, it’s great for writing text posts but adding images is a nightmare. Then I have Evernote, this is my note taking app. I can write anything in here and file it away knowing I only have to search to bring it back and I use it online too. Evernote is my backup memory and the way it can index words in pictures is amazing. Omnifocus takes the prize for my most expensive app. However it is the most amazing to do list you will ever see, infinitely expandable it syncs with my mac and organizes my life. My favorite feature is it can tell you what tasks you have to do where you are by using the gps. This app is a life saver. Lastly on this line is the National Rail Enquires app, I love this app when traveling, it tells me when trains are coming and can find me a route from any station in the uk to another.
The last line comprises of Facebook, which really does what it says on the tin. Tweetie 2 which is defiantly the best twitter iPhone client. I love the local search and the easy to use interface. Flickr is an easy way to upload photo’s to my Flickr profile and you can search all of Flickr for images. Lastly Skype, this is a great app, when using wifi I can make Skype to Skype phone calls for free and it feels like I’m using my phone. Perfect if I’m running close to my monthly limit.
So there you go, there’s some of the apps I use on my iPhone. If you do look at this blog on a mobile phone you may notice I’ve tried to make it easier by designing a mobile browser so I hope you like that. If not it’s easy to go back to the normal site with a link at the bottam of the page.
I’m moving back to University tomorrow so I’ll hopefully write a short post then.
Ciao
